As photographers, we are all more or less attached to the photographs we take. Be it a snapshot of the family or friends, a well thought of image in a studio or just random clicks, we don't usually delete any of the photographs we take. But simply snapping away and keeping photographs for personal viewing shouldn't be the last step. For budding photographers, we want to improve on our images, our skills and in the process, to display our best images to other people. In other words, building a respectable portfolio should be every photographers goal.
There are quite a number of ways to do this, but I'm going to concentrate on something called self filtering, or self critique. In my opinion it is important for us to know how to properly select the best photographs, because in the end, you are judged by the photographs you show.
We are pleased to announce a Joint Event organised by Leica and PhotoMalaysia PhotoSafari Experience (PMPE) from 14th to 19th December 2010 at Siem Reap, Cambodia.
All Leica and Wannabe Users are invited to participate. Schmidt Marketing will be bringing a few cameras and lenses for those who may want to test them out during the photo outing.
Don't worry even if you own a Leica PnS, you too are welcomed to join.
Take this opportunity to meet up with fellow Rangefinder Camera Users and see what this little camera can do. Is it a myth or a legend?
Schmidt Marketing is also sponsoring a Photo Competition among the participants and the prizes will be announced later.
Greetings, To add value to your membership with PhotoMalaysia, I am starting a series of critic sessions to be conducted at my studio from time to time. This is in addition to the parent activity like Nikon Face2Face that has already been conducted for the last 4 months.
These sessions are targeted to smaller group of people, sitting together to talk about their photos. Also, this kind of activities can be replicated by other communities in their respective locality.
I hope, by initiating this, we could have more activities that would enable members to interact directly and positively.
WHAT DO WE DO
It is a session of leisure where each participant will put up 1 photo each on... [Read More]
