I was in Singapore from Wednesday to Saturday and like any photo nut, I went to Cathay Photo at Peninsular Plaza as soon as I unpacked my stuffs. I visited all their stores and I must say I was not very impressed. The only items that they had that I liked were the collection of Gitzo tripods. Yep, I ended up buying the Explorer 6X Carbon and its bag. Why? I still don't know why. And Wimberley clamp and lens plate.

I asked for the B+W thin lens but they tried to pull a fast one on me, upon converting I found they cost more than if i were to buy here. And the 82mm CPL is out of stock.

Well no temptations for me. Quite a disappointing trip. I checked out the other camera stores in the complex and yes they have a lot of used Leicas , Nikons and Canons but the model I wanted the F4 was without its motor drive and the condition was "user" rather than mint. :-\

I also went to Lucky Plaza and Marina square but the shops sell mostly P&S items. :-[

At the rate you are going and the toys you have already acquired there are very few shops in this world that can tempt you. >:)

The next toy that can tempt you now is the D3...me included! :))

Wow, do u have the name, web site and location of the store? Interested to pay them a visit...

Uncle noordin, maybe u should try the very basic point and shoot. It's much more challenging than dSLR...... :))

No fun.

Digital rangefinder is more fun. Really have to get correct focussing, the camera won't help you. :-)

When you are tired of buying camera stuff, you're tired of life.......
When you dont have anything left to buy....now that;s a big problem.

I played with the 1DsM3 the other day and I have about a hundred test pictures of 21 MP each in RAW and jpg format shot with the 135mm, 200mm and 180mm, but Photoshop CS3 cant open the RAW files yet....
However the jpg copies are enough to persuade me that this baby I must have. Anybody wants to buy a slightly used 1DsM2 ??? Please ???

With what you're doing now, Canon should have given you the 1DsMIII as a present/sponsorship you know.....

If you're still keen, I will check with my bro if he is willing to let go his "hardly used" F4. I am not sure the condition but I guess you can check out later.

Too many post to read, but I found buying from Engtong photo cheaper than Cathay Photo.

Was there recently, I ended up bying the corkin filter holder and filter at EngTong Photo.
