pay RM1, billed RM100, RM99 gone.......

agreed with that...it's normal even with the corporate-owned cars...the company pays more than what it should be the market rate...

Mostly when all companies dealing with government, they markup giler2. Or maybe they have a another claim receipt, which is the actual price is hiding, then they made another receipt with all markup prices, send to government. So the balance, is masuk poket to the person who want markup. Hehehe, this thing always been done!

BPR is getting into this matter. No matter how you turn the table, its just not appropriate for the Terengganu MB to spend the state's money to buy a Mercedes while the government is cutting what ever cost which is personally somewhat ridiculous but better than nothing. Just imagine if Perak, Selangor and Kedah state do the same thing, they'll cook up this issue until the year 2010! spend wisely, set the priorities. the rakyat's well being. after the monsoon cup, the crystal mosque and now this... enuff is enuff.

I actually don't really think they want to buy the Mercs.
I believe it's more of a political move.

3rd last paragraph ....

Proton actually gave a 4 year warranty .. and even proton pening how can the state government incurred such a high cost when it was a government subjected expense.

Maybe this perdana is being send to state appointed workshop that owns by the MP's in the state .. money go out from state pocket into my the MP pocket.

Even the wakil rakyat's have no faith with Proton .. how can proton survived .. Kepimpinan Melalui Tauladan What ?

Last paragraph
The perdana incurred a long distance travel between KT and KL .. if you MP's want real good budget car long distance and Cheap maintenance .. Get a 1.5 VIOS la .. coz i've been traveling Terengganu every week for a whole in VIOS... and servicing is the same what ..

got a question out of curiosity.
is economics class a pre requisite to being a politician?
for that matter, is methamatics a pre requisite?

Well.. everybody gets to complain.. they get the cars. Win win situation.. heh. They are politicians.. not easy to be touched for this kind of issues. If someone want to do something about the high maintenance.. i think the workshops should be the target. Set up some lessons to be learned by other workshops that wish to make some deals. This is same like pirate CDs la.. RM50k fine is nothing for the pirates.. but RM1k per CD against buyer/customer would be a hard lesson.

from what i know..company owned cars are much higher to maintain
the service center tend to charge more because they know that the company will pay for it..
what really annoys me,they say that perdana is not realiable..
ive been using the car for almost 5 years,no problem at all
and then why mercedes??camry and accord is good enough if they want comfort and "reliablity"
dont know lah,the mb's comment make me sick!

BPR should check who send the car in. Once corrupted forever corrupted. Same story no matter who's the MB.

Just curious for a 2nd opinion. A friend who has both a Perdana V6 and E200 said that the Merc is more fuel economical.

I don't have a Merc but my sister drives a V6 and from my observation (when I use the car occassionally), the fuel consumption is reasonable, comparing with and taking into consideration the engine capacity difference to my Vios.

ACA probes.. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/7/25/nation/21917348&sec=nation

honestly, ACA is just reacting to medial....they could hv nip it at the butt when those bills goes to the state gomen....

even if maintaining perdana V6 exec is very high, it should not hv reach a RM100k level withing 4 years...siow.....another thing, they should hv reco another car and not merc...maybe camry or accord or something like tat....
