R1 is for speed demon la bro.

I have a friend who sold S'pore bike but he re-registered it in Thailand for easier insurance purposes. So every year have to go to Bkt Kayu Hitam to re-new the permit, etc.

My advice is, go for Kawa er-6n la. :D

getting a singapore i quite a hassle lah... need to get there every year to renew your roadtax and insurance... if you aiming for an er6n... the latest er6n CKD is quite affordable... around 40K only... if you aiming to put lots of extra luggage... find a Dual Porpose bike is better... something like kawa KLE... :-)... KLE used price is around 15-25K only... do search around... here are the two forum that i lurk aorund ... superbikemalaysia.com or malaysianbikers.com.my :O)

nak pakai sg reg motobike memang tak susah sebenarnye.. beli then pakai.. tapi setiap tahun nak renwal insuran and tax yg jadi masalah.. kalau tak silap u need sg licence utk riding the sg reg motobike. if im not mistaken lah.. ( atau ia cuma tidak valid di sg shaja - betulkan jika salah)

better cari yg dah daftar di malaysia.. rasanya ade byk big bike yg nak dijual..

Go find any runner who would like to help you on the registering / roadtax / insurance purposes every year for a fee, of course...You can easily find them in the superbike forums...

That's a good price for R1 I think but be prepared to fork out large amount of cash for downpayment...And if you're going to buy a used Spore's bike, most likely you need to pay cash in total, no loans...

For a beginner level, I'd suggest any 600cc above superbike from the 90's, they still rocks!!!

Terima kasih atas maklum balas segera,

For the brand new bike, biasanya takde masalah, either bank atau kedai motor boleh bagi.. biasanya interest from 5-10%, tapi better bank le, repayment max to 5yrs.. deposit 20-30%..

Kalau 2nd hand, rasanya cuma kedai je bagi credit, 10% interest.. tinggi oooo..

Guys, I read with dismay when so many of you mention a non WAF (Wife Acceptence Factor) and in particular ahmadabhamid who has to sell his bike.

Please there is no such thing as a "closed all doors to further discussion" in any relationships especially if it involves just toys and not another person. No one should be put in a spot and the old "weapon" of a sulk, non comms worse yet knock backs at night be used.

Granted biking can be dangerous but no more than being a pedestrian or driving a car for that matter.

If you really want to pursue your dreams do it right otherwise the "what if" question will haunt you when you are too old to do it.

both parent and wife are concerned with our safety. I suspected what changed my wife is when I told her that I am not a Mat Rempit. I am a civil rider who ride for recreation, not a speed demon

err.. encek abdhamid... brape monthly er6n tuh?.... dia ade version satu lagi kan?.. v1000 yg 60k somthing.. ke tak?... am not bikers nwayy..... just suddenly feel the urgee...

ER6 ada beberapa model tapi semua nya 650cc. ER6N is a naked street bike macam dalam gambar yang saya attached.

Good to hear. I am sure you will have many happy hours on it. I take it you have ridden previously.

Please be weary of the Sunday morning rides from Jln Kucing Mobile Station to Awana, then to Bukit Tinggi and back. Too many riders and too many who are compelled to use the Ulu Yam road as a road track. Not to mention all other marquee clubs using it the same time. Either go early to fuel up and leave before the crowd or go later.

Stick to your trusted mates not numbering more than 4 for your rides with a sensible sense of enjoyment long term years and not one Sunday alone.

The Er6N is brilliant for the tighter bends on the hill roads. Ride safe!

The ER-6n look is futuristic. Many bike designers, journalists and racers actually awarded this machine the crown of best-looking naked bike

The bike is not conventionally good-looking. But it is the kind of machine that will get people's pulses racing, and get them to consider buying a bike when they might not have considered it before. Me included. I fell in love with it at first sight - cinta pandang pertama.

If this sounds as though I really like this bike that's quite correct. Well, except for the mirrors. They're huge, intruding. Buy the bike, replace the mirrors.

83771

Radical designs like this are sometimes impractical, but not this time. You'd be hard put to find anything apart from those mirrors that doesn't look good on the ER-6n. Well, apart from the lack of a main stand, ruled out by the trick under-bike exhaust.

The seat is low and comfortable; ergonomics are fine; the bike is light and nimble and thoroughly enjoyable on the tar and on moderate gravel. Corrugations are not its friends, but apart from that the suspension is good. Fully adjustable levers are a bonus on a bike at this price. The pillion gets a handy grab rail, and there are luggage hooks beneath the seat – it's a well thought-out package. I'd have one of these, any time.

I have rode the ER6 for 3 weeks now and would like to share my experience with those interested.

After a few days of riding, I once parked the bike on the lawn in my garden. Due to its weight and the soggy soil, it fell down. I have to seek the assistance of my 2 daughters to lift it back into position. Verdict: It is a damn heavy machine

Cruising along the old Gombak-Bentong road is a breeze. I am still struggling trying to negotiate the KL traffic every morning and after work. I have yet to learn the skill of "chilok". It is not easy to squeeze in between jammed cars. At times when I am caught in the traffic I said to myself "This is just like driving". The only advantage is when there is some space on I am on 3rd gear, opening the throtle is exhilarating. The G force almost pull my chest away from my arm. Verdict: Extraordinary quick acceleration for a 55 year old rider

Night riding is a pain. After dinner with some friends one night, I was struggling reach home safely. The tail light should have been brighter to attract attention of other road users. Verdict: Add on more tail light, use reflectors on your jacket and helmet.

bro ahmadabhamid, what is your cruising speed in highway?

wahh shiok la this bike ehh..but i might consider the versys because of my height..

Some reviews says ER6n max speed is 214kph. I believe it is correct as on 6th gear at 4000 rpm, the bike runs at 80kmh. Therefore at 8000 rpm the bike will go at 160kph. The techometer is redlined at 11000, so the top speed is 220 kph according to my calculation.

I have not gone beyond 4000 rpm as mine is still in the first stage running in. Yesterday I clocked 600 km on the odometer. This means I have completed the first stage and going into the final stage running in where I can ramm the engine up to 6000 rpm.

The truth is, I am 55 years old and will never go beyond 6000 rpm which I estimate is equivalent to 120 kph on 6th gear. I am too scared at that speed.

Versys got better review than ER6n on suspension and handling. If you travel on gravel road, Versys will do much better as it is a dual purpose bike meant for the city and country roads. ER6 vibrate a lot especially when I am on 1st or 2nd gear at 3,000 - 4,000 rpm. On 3rd gear it is rather smooth with extraordinaory accelerating power. Go for Versys if you are 5ft 6in tall or above. I am 5' 3" and dare not ride a Versys oferred by my friend. I can bearly touch the ground.

Singapore bike, for renewal, I think you can use runner. Someone can do it for you. A lot of people don't mind going to singapore as they go there to shop for items for their bike or riding gear. Much cheaper there. Like get a Shoei or Arai helmet there. In case of accident, theft, claim, it is very troublesome. It is very cheap to get singapore or thai registered bike, only if you're ok with all those hassle. ER-6n is not that expensive here.

Don't say so fast first. When you get the adrenaline rush, you will exceed it without you realise it. Especially when fellow biker overtake you, and you try to tag along. It is fun and addictive. If really wanna know the limit of the bike and improve on the skill, Sepang is the best place.

You want people or other road user to notice you, light is not that big an impact. Exhaust is the way to go.

basically the singapore bike needs to be de-registered in singapore and then exported to where ever .... ditto for cars

google 'used car exporters singapore' or 'singapore used motorcycle exporter' etc etc or you can DIY with Land Transport Authority (LTA) ... check out their website for details http://www.lta.gov.sg/

You are right. I have done 180 kph on the East Coast Highway on the way to Termeloh recently. I never thought I would go that fast. My friends on ER6 did 210 kph. If you are interested on ER6 try this forum http://er6.my-forums.net

I think Singapore bike mentioned here is buying singapore bike and as a singapore bike. If bike singapore bike and register in Malaysia, still have to pay for all the tax and duty. Here, they are using it as Singapore bike, singapore reg no, that's why it is cheap.

Be careful of the East coast Highway. Claim a lot of bikers already. And please, don't look at the speedo all the time, look at the road. At that kind of speed, a split second translate to a lot of distance. Have to be really careful, just remember, don't go faster than you can brake. Try to practice emergency brake. See how you bike cope with the braking and how you handle it. See how far the bike need to go before total stop. It saves life. You don't wanna do first time emergency brake during the time you really need it.

I'm not interested in naked bike. My heart is with sportbike especially twin. I was track junkie. Hardly ride on the road. Did a lot of track day. But stop biking for the time being. Too much pressure from family. Especially the time I have a little tumbling at T4 and got 2 days memory lost. It was banned after that. Will make a come back later on but not in near future.

Nice ride bro. RM30k is a good price indeed. Did you buy the bike at Welly Batu Caves?

May consider getting this bike to supplement rather than replace my jalan2 cari makan Modenas Elite 150 LOL. I've had my B-Full licence since 2000 but never took the plunge to buy a big bike. Can't ride a sports bike anymore due to back injury. So an upright riding position is a must but no easy riders for me la.

Since I've made the missus happy this year by getting her a new car, I can now get a new bike lah kan? Better a bike than spend money on other naughty things.

Cheers!!

No, I did not get it from Welly Batu Caves eventhough Welly is just a stone throw away from my home. Undeniably, I visited them umpteen of times before making the buy decision - that's after considering all the available models and make. The people there are very helpful.

The 2009 model is now selling at RM32,500 while the limited edition version is going for RM34,500. I have just got my B Full a day before the bike was ready for collection. Since you have got it much earlier, are you not getting one soon? Visit the forum I suggested for more info on ER6 community in Malaysia. A few PM forumers are also there

I will be glad to assist you if you wish.

Thanks for the offer. Might get one when I return to Malaysia some time end of next year. So maybe we can have TT at Shareezma SG3 for some bike and camera talks.

I got my motorbike licence in Australia in the summer of '99. Learnt on the Kawasaki Eliminator 250 before graduating on the Honda CBR400. So when I returned to Malaysia in 2000, I just converted to B-Full licence. I completed the basic and intermediate riding courses in Australia but not the advanced riding course in Phillip Island which is a big regret. Maybe later on I'll attend a course in Malaysia when I'm ready.

In general, how's the riding position of the ER6. I hope it's not too taxing on the lower back and wrist.

Cheers!! :)

Yup, the dreaded 16 inch front wheel. It was meant to be an all rounder kind of bike.

No other way but to fit in 17 inch front to sometimes enjoy those slicks rubber...yummy:-)

It's a bulky S.O.B., needs to muscle it more if compared to those GSXR 750 or CBR600. It's bulky and you can't lean it lower. sucks...:((

But it gives a very linear power all across the rev. Unlike, 600s and 750s where you've gotta keep the revs high due to prominent flat spots in the mid revs.:-)

Yup, it's Arai's Ukawa replica.[edit-it's harada's replica,sorry.]

Hi Yehui,

Yup, the blade900 had a respectable power to weight ratio (until the R1 came into production):w. With a bit of mods. You could crank about 125hp on the dyno.

It feels pretty light and you can flick it with ease and it was also a breeze to zip around traffic. It got just the right balance for open road and track riding. That's why I fell in love with it then.

I have done some long distance ride on it and on my 600s. I definitely prefer the 900s. Surprisingly comfortable long distance rides. Lovely all rounder bike.

(Once did a midnight solo run Bkt Kayu Hitam-KL in obscene record time. Open road and open throttle. No interruptions all the way.(except at the toll booths). For a speed freak like me, it was a couple hours of mad rush going through my head. Maddening but what a rush...)

Had a couple of falls here and there. But the most horrifying moment was when I ran over a dog at 160km/h on a bike's lane. And I wasn't properly protected. (Never rode in the bike's lane ever since.)

Escape unscathed, thank god.
