A freezing day at the zoo

Inspired by Malek's Malacca Zoo thread, so I also went to a zoo.

However, because it was very cold today, most of the animals were just sleeping indoor.

I found these meerkats sitting under a heater to keep warm. From time to time, the one on the right got up the highest rock in the enclosure to keep guard. Still commited to his job despite the freezing temperature.

Last weekend, I saw a photo book entitled The Zoo. The book features black and white photos of animal in captivity. Inspired by the book, I have decided to take some b&w photos.

Since the temperature was freezing, the only active animals were the penguins.

The animals were mostly sleeping. So I didn't get much chances to photograph them. Here's an owl, he was also sleeping. Well, of course owls are nocturnals :D

Here, the free-flying seagulls were stealing penguins' food supply.
