  • How to check shutter count for Canon 50D?

I've tried to download and install this http://astrojargon.net/40dshuttercount.aspx on my windows laptop but it doesn't seem to install.

Other than sending to Canon Service Center to check the shutter count, is there any other way to determine my Canon 50D's shutter actuations?

Johan, I use a freeware I downloaded online, when I had my 50D. I'll PM the name to you once I get home.

Hey Johan! I checked the program I used, but i'm afraid its the same one you have... I've successfully used it many times for my 1000D, 40D and 50D, no problems at all.

          Many apologies!

I got the same software and it works (still does) fine when i connect my 450D to it. What you need to do:

                  1. You need to have EOS Utility installed on your PC - the software which comes in the box of your new camera, or alternatively, you can download it from download.com
                  2. Once you've downloaded the 40D Shutter count software, save it under the EOS Utility folder
                  3. Once done (2) above, open the application and connect your 50D. It will automatically detect your camera and the shutter count.

I hope this helps. I'm not sure if it works on Mac.
