  • X-Pro1 - My first few shots

Firstly, I would like to state that I know nuts about writing reviews, doing tests on cameras and can't differentiate between a good image quality from the other.

Comparing my photos shot with the X-Pro1 and my other cameras, I don't see much difference.

But, I know that using my X-Pro1 makes me very happy, an that is important.

On the image quality, I'll leave it to you guys to judge .

How's the focusing speed, when compared to the X100?

The focusing speed feels better, but bear in mind that these are in good light situation. However, I do miss quite a few focus, just like the X100.

Some are P, some are with exposure compensation and some are manual.

There were some write ups regarding contrast detection versus phase detection AF. Its quite frustrating when you wanted a quick shot.

Having said that, the manual "focus by wire" is very usable and much improved as compared to the X100. Therefore, in a difficult situation and you a not shooting in a hurry, MF is the way to go, I think. Whenever I get frustrated with the focusing, I tell myself, its like what the "M" shooters and rangefinder shooters face each time. Im not giving up on it yet

Re: X-Pro1 - My first few shots

I found with my few shots that the contrast is quite low. Hence I have to do quite a bit of adjusting during post processing to get up to what I like it to be.

I need to shoot more in order to confirm it this is true or not.

Pleasing Fuji tones and tack sharp images. Must be from the 35mm f/1.4? Cheers!!
