  • Sigma Lense Owner

    Hi all,

I find that information and source to refer about Sigma and Tamron lense is quite limited.

So I'm starting this tread to compile who owns which Sigma lense. (Hope that other Tamron owner start the same thread)

    Objective:
    - To exchange info about price/performance/limitation etc etc.

We have amongst ourselves depth of physical information that we can capitalise and make use. Let's share!

                      Webster,

What do you think of the 105mm? Have you try to compare with Tamron 90mm?
How much you got it back then?

got it middle of this year for RM1.5K. not sure if it is better than tamron as i have not tried the tamron before.

Prior to this i used to own the same 105mm Sigma macro + 17-35mm sigma too. sold them when i thought that i can give up slr (who am i kidding)

I guess buying back the same lens model tells a lot abt my affinity to it.

btw, i remembered reading a review in Practical photography a long time ago (~99?) comparing the canon 100mm, nikon 100mm tamron 90mm and sigma 105mm. the sigma came up tops for it's quality & price. I think i still have that issue, but will need to dig it up.

sigma just lost to tamron external build quality only. Optically, sigma 105mm is a great macro lens.
