Hi PM'ers... Anybody can help me to ID this one...?

During my childhood days, very often to spot this bird around my village area. We call it 'burung merbok'. But I didn't notice this species got 'celak' and 'jambul' until I photographed them last weekend...

This is a Peaceful Dove also known as Zebra Dove.

As for the jambul, it is most likely an injury to the forehead. This bird does not have any jambul naturally.

ya, agreed with bitty. zebra dove doesn't have that jambul. usually people keep this kind of bird in captivity as pet and some injury could happen to the forehead when the bird struggling to escape thru the cage.

the forehead may be merely experiencing a feather moult? but could not say it is definitely natural...

Thank you for the input jytou... I am no expert in birds. Feather moult or shedding may also is the possibility.

I have certainly no idea before that this bird had no natural 'jambul' until I upload this pic in PM. Thanks to PM'ers for your sharings...

The 1s that makes the best sound are those free and in the wild.
If you get 1, it is not going to sound good at all.
So, you might as well free it.

When the buying stops, the killing can too.
