    Nice pix.
What lens, apertures and shutter speed, please?
I take it no flash was allowed?
    Thanks

Thank you danboy. They are awesome musicians.

alancheong7 : No flash used. D200 at iso1250 - 1600. Lens : Nikkor 17-55mm at f/2.8 shutter speed varies from 1/30 - 1/60 depending on where the light falls with spot metering.

Cris, you know I am not good enough to assess the quality of any photos but I must say that I like this series very much.

The 17-55 has proven itself again; very sharp and great bokeh. I like how you play with the DOF and your composition is spot on. I think from what I get from my D200, at such a high ISO there should be a lot of noise but you have done wisely by converting them into B&W. If it was me I would push the contrast a little bit higher esp those with the metallic reflections as I like them that way. Of course that is only my personal preference and has nothing to do with improving any more the great quality of your photos.

Keep your photos coming as I always like to admire your pix. BTW I like #1 and #4 the most.

Thank you for your kind words dr.teh. I am not worthy. I would actually increase the contrast abit, but I was carefull with the burn out area - white shirts, reflective objects - pictures are all loaded in CS2, adjust abit of leveling to bring details in the BG, then resized, sharpened and saved. Pictures was taken as B/W in the camera presets.

I am glad you enjoyed the pictures.

    Thanks, Cris.
Seems pretty sharp in spite of the high ISO range

I'm curious if the 85mm f1.4 would have helped?

Bit tricky if you use 85mm f/1.4 IMO, because of the focal range + crop factor. You need a pretty high shutter speed to hand hold. But then you can use a tripod, by that it limits your compositions and will look distracting if you are carrying the tripod across and around the stage. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Initiald, I have to admit, it's the camera. D200 makes me feel superior.

Actually it's because I paid so much for it, so I make sure I can take good photos with it.. But otherwise it's with all with the above you said. It works in a psychological way.
