Can't decide yet. Need to see price/performance + play around with it first. Now I also already have the olympus xz1.

But I would definitely be interested if there is a k-mount version of Q with apsc sensor. Something like the sony nex7.

Not now until there is improvement in the revolution of performance on a small sensor size, but more interested in women who advertise the camera.

What is special about this model?
It seems like a P&S camera with interchangeable lens, with small sensor.

nothing good.... just small size a pns with interchangeable lens... not for us who used to bigger sensor then stamp... nice to sell for youngster, rich kids, girl or ppls who looking for style and smart looking cam... at lease.... in future.... we will see less ppl / crowed lugging around big dslr which cause a lot of ppls having eye sore ( although i still dunno why ppl or so call 'photographer' having eye sore when see ppl lug around slr for photo... ) and replace with this type of small and beautiful type of camera.... (which will help keep cityscape not so boring and reduce snatching case.... )

*heard nikon also coming with changeable lens pns soon.... so... GXR... Q.... and N dunno wat..... another trend is happening in town...

camera companies keep cutting down cost and throw us smaller and smaller sensors. This trend must end. 5.5x crop factor is just unacceptable for more serious shootings.
Mind you, our usual 1.5x crop sensors have more than 13 times the area of 5.5x sensors. The drop in image quality can be seen from Pentax's example images- I can definitely see some defects there that are normally present only in compact point and shoots.

while this concept is acceptable (having a compact camera with interchangeable lenses), the price is definitely not. Its price is even higher than Sony's 1.5x-cropped NEX-5.

perhaps the main selling point then, is its looks. Yes it looks handsome. The retro styling etc., looks like the little brother of Fuji X10 (which is the little brother of X100). but there are better options at Olympus & Panasonic with their micro 4/3rds, which also incorporate drop dead looks (E-P3) with good sensor. Seriously, for that money, it's better to invest in a true DSLR. Or even better, in a true, classic film camera.

wondering too. checked with pentax USA and they also sell at USD799.95 with free shipping (continental US though). good thing pentax USA is doing but at USD799.95, that's not cheap. The Oly ZX-1 is USD450 only. Nex is around USD700 with aps-c sensor.

was thinking of getting the pentax Q but the price just turns me off. anyway, got a good exchange deal - for USD125, got a brand new Canon S95.

to start comparing a toy camera like this with APS-C and frustrated about the performance of this camera is just like shoot at wrong target. This small toy is very obvious not up for image quality or anything like that its just a funny toy.
