What model pro video consumer for beginner?

get a canon 550D with some decent lenses and a zoom H4N for audio.

State your purpose for it, what do you want to do with it? Wedding, making short films... recording family moments... budget?

isn't that Panasonic camera already discontinued already?

If film making, I'd stick with HDSLRs since you wont have massively long takes... but if you're like filming a whole concert, definitely you'd need some sort of HDV camera...

yup..if you plan shooting event..concert...better your buy video camera like panasonic...or etc....if you planning short wedding...short flim...u can use hdslr.....
i have both.....
