Tamron 17-50mm Non V$ + 0.45 Wide angle converter

would it work if I were to get a 0.45 wide angle converter to fix it on my 17-50mm? I am on a tight budget but will be travelling overseas soon so might as well get something done rather than to regret not having a wide angle when I am there. Advice please? thanks!

i think 17-50mm is wide enough for travelling and adding wide angle converter will produce CA to your picture..i've test it with 18-55mm and the CA is very obvious.
