Tamron lens and filters

Hi to all, I like to ask a question. Supposedly i have a Tamron AF55-200mm F4-5.6 Di II, and i had a few 58mm filters(uv,nd,cpl). Is it possible if i used an 52mm-58mm step up ring(since the filter thread diameter of Tamron AF55-200mm F4-5.6 Di II is 52mm) for it? Also, can i still use the supplied lens hood of that tamron lens without affecting the 58mm filter i used? Hope you can shed me some light here.Thanks.

You can use a step up right to fit the 58mm filters on the 52mm thread... But you wont be able to used the supplied lens hood because it is fitted on its own thread and not the front thread as far as I know.

I thought the lens hood supplied was a bayonet mount type.

Normally lens hood supplied will fit just right onto your lens, doesn't work if you mount a step-up ring.
