Ask yourself which category you fit it when it comes to plucking out close to 20K for the D4 -
1. you truly need it cos you shoot a lot, want the best and can afford it
2. you buy it cos you can afford it, and it finds more time sitting in the dry-cabi 6 months later
3. notwithstanding it being a dream camera to own at this time, you honestly cannot justify spending 20K in any which way you look at it
4. your passion is a strong motivating force, you dream it the whole day long, but you just simply cannot afford it.
5. all said and done, you forego the best and opt for the D800, comforting yourself that would do you fine
6. last, you cannot even justify spending on a new D800 cos you still have your D3 or even a D7000 which serves you well
I would probably find myself in the 5th category. That is, if I can afford the lesser D800 by assumption. For that matter, I do not even have the D3 or D7000 at this time. My Fuji S5 pro has yet to fail me.
