What part of the foot is broken? I have a broken af560 foot, maybe you can salvage something from it.
I think it's the fledge aka the wing. Most people broken it either dropping on the floor or accidentally sloted it into the the hotshoe at and angle thus breaking it. Futuromic can always help you out is this area.
FYI. Metz had this problem too in its earlier model. They later introduce metal version to all its newer models.

Metz model starting Metz44 already has the capability to Tilt and swivel its head. Its generally ack that Metz flash is superior especially from Cost vs feature perspective.

does the lower end metz come with wireless flash feature? the 360FGZ does.
They already incorp wireless capability to Metz44...which is the Sub RM700 model. Best of all, this model has tilt and swivel.

i have the 360GFZ and almost exclusively use it in wireless mode since no swivel function. works well, most of the time by just using one hand to lift the flash high to bounce the light (perhaps even better than attached). works best with light primes (i.e. Pentax Limiteds).
read that the Metz 44 does not have trailing curtain or high speed sync, and looks bigger than the Pentax. the controls also looks very simple. If wanna go cheap, why not YongNuo? genuine question here, not trying to be sarcastic coz I've never used the Metz or YongNuo flash.
