For me that RM1,000 more us well worth paying for.
Uncle NOORDIN, did u notice any moire in D800e's photos?
Still can't make up my mind on which model to take..

D800E is 2 stops better than D800 ?? I dont think so. WhAt you view from LCD is not the RAW Image but jpeg image which in turn shows you your picture control styles.

many people talk about economic crisis or at least, how bad it is, but the latest RM10k camera body is out-of-stock and back ordered almost the entire country. hhmmm makes you wonder eh? or is it just me?

but it's good for the industry though

Key Color quoted D800 at RM10,800 with ready stock =_="
Other shops in Mv/Gdns quoted RM10K without stock

E or no E? Now only those bigger dealers will have stocks, but not smaller dealers....

Re: Price check for D800 and D800E

Saw a warranty card of D800E with wordings under Model name as " Nikon D800E HK set", Distributor as "Nikon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.", is this camera a Nikon camera with Nikon Malaysia warranty or a grey product where warranty will be covered by Nikon HongKong? ( I believe HK is short form for HongKong) Does all users of D800E or D800 who bought their D800E/800 from Authorised dealer of Nikon Malaysia also have the same wordings on their warranty card?

As far as I know, all Nikon DSLR in Malaysia have 2 warranty card, 1 is HK and another local..... My D5100 also like this(if not mistaken)....
With stock are not enough to fullfill market demand, I doubt we can see grey products....

I do believe that the one I saw was under Nikon Malaysia warranty, not a grey product, or else on "the distributor" row wouldn't show " Nikon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd." just dun understand why Nikon want to wrote on the warranty card there under model name "Nikon D800E HK set".

All Nikon products are under HK because that's the regional centre. The warranty is printed by Nikon and not Nikon Malaysia.

Yes, uncle noordin, I remember you mention this before, how about yours? Does the warranty card of your D4, D800E and D800 also printed "HK set" after the model name even though they are all under Nikon Malaysia warranty? (bought from Malaysia Nikon dealers)

Thanks for the reply, so you bought all your cameras i.e. D60, D300s and D700 from local Nikon Malaysia authorized dealer?

Re: Price check for D800 and D800E

    Another question to ask:

My friend bought a D800E recently, he insert a used SDHC card without a CF card into his D800E and with setting SD card as primary card for saving photos. After first photo shoot, the display of the camera show the photo info with the file name DSC_9111, is this normal ?

Does all new D800E have the same file name for 1st photo taken? Why not DSC_0001?

My friend tried to insert another fully formatted SD card into his D800E and take another shoot, the next file name is still following the previous card with file name DSC_9112. When used free EXIF software, namely Opanda IEXIF to check the total shutter count, it shows 3. Why? Why not 2? It is normal?

The extra one shutter count was executed by Nikon inspector during final checking?

i bought d60 from tarita (i regret going there actually, but i was a noob that time ), d300s i couldn't remember from where but one of the shops in sg wang also. then finally d700 from YL.

and i have dealt with both nikon service centers at berjaya time square and PJ without them questioning the authenticity of my dslr and they served the warranty without hassle.

nothing to be concerned of i think. maybe the used sd card he inserted first time has some files in it and the d800e simply continue with the number sequence. doesnt mater if the existing files reside in different folder (like D700 etc), if im not mistaken, nikon dslr will continue the next numbering after the last filename in any folder it could find. letsay the card have the filename dsc_9000 in folder d700, once the card is inserted in d800, it will continue with dsc_9001 inside d800 folder. so once this happened, it will continue from there (9002, 9003...) even when you inserted new or formatted card.

since like you are not the only one experiencing this...

I might be wrong but if you really concern abt this, go to nikon sc and have them explain in detail of what is happening.

also, triggering the liveview will increment the shutter count. perhaps your friend did trigger the lv before taking the second picture, hence giving the shutter count of 3?
