Replacement model for 50mm f/1.2L and 85mm f/1.2L II

anyone here knows if there is any confirmation on Canon updating their 50mm f/1.2L and 85mm f/1.2L II lenses any time soon? saw somewhere that the 85mm may have mk3 in pipeline. how about the 50mm f/1.2L?

It doesn't matter - both are good lenses currently. Get the one you want now and start shooting.

If you're going to get one, why not buy a used one and enjoy it? These lenses are as good as they can get and any improvements would be marginal. Lenses are not Ipads and will not become obsolete. Speculate too much and you'll end up envying those who are taking great photographs with them right now.

It took about more than 10 years for the 85mm F1.2 L to become a "Mark II" , so it's going to be a long wait for the "Mark III" .
They don't simply "update" a already good lens if there's nothing wrong with it.

I have the 24 - 70mm f/2.8L and it doesn't bother me that they now have the Mark II version. Am happy with my current lens performance.

Of course it's better. If it makes you feel better to have the newest one and you have the money, then why not? I'm very sure it'll be better than the older one in one way or more.

was there yesterday, looked around. not any much cheaper than other places cos majority of the items only have 10% discount from RRP, which is still a bit higher than other places after discount.

if i recall correctly, if you bring your slr body there, there are some lens models which will be at 25% discount

i can't recall, but i think one of them was 50mm f/1.4, some other EF-S lens etc...have to bring SLR body along to be entitled
