If you have software update activated you will receive an automated notification. Installed on my iPhone without any issues although whatsapp was erratic for a few hours but that could have been coincidental.

I've been following complaints on Whatsapp after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1. Looks like the app has to be modified in order to take up the new version. No news yet from the Whatsapp developers. I'm expecting they will release an update soon.

There have also been some complaints on other apps, especially games but nothing from the major apps so far.
