Cannot be EN-EL3e, becaue EL3e is for D200. D200 have not reach Malaysia yet, not even launch yet in Malaysia.
Why not? The EN-EL3e is compatible with the D50, D70(s) and D100.. just not the other way around with the D200, so its perfectly fine to have available EN-EL3e batteries now, better to flood the market with it and have compatible batteries for the future devices ..Originally Posted by bUGG
So very simple.. are the new batteries black (EN-EL3/EN-EL3a)or grey (EN-EL3e)?
Nombor naik....kena turun KL laa minggu ni. Any PMers from Terengganu nak kirim ?
2 contacts = ENEL3a
3 contacts = ENEL3e

wooo hoooo, i've got EN-ELe...
I've written to Paul of Nikon... He said, you may not know which battery that you will get....
YOu might get back EN-EL, rather than EN-ELa or EN-ELe... It depends on which type of stock available at the moment.... If they have EN-EL, then they will give you back EN-EL... Guess that, now EN-ELe has stock, so they are giving that...
Hei.... Nikon replace my EN-EL3 with EN-EL3a, not bad at all.......![]()
just checked mine... and both are in the list. Gonna pay them a visit this afternoon.
Hopefully can get EL3a ..hehehe
Hurry-hurry, before the stock is finish and waiting the next batch..
I have check, they replace it either with EN-EL3a or EN-EL3e. Check out this statement from NikonUSA.
"Your EN-EL3 battery pack will be replaced free of charge within approximately 7-10 days of our receipt with a new EN-EL3a or EN-EL3e battery pack. The EN-EL3a and the EN-EL3e may be freely substituted for the EN-EL3 in all cases."

Just went to Nikon Service Center and exchanged my battery. They got stock in hand. Just changed, and filled in form. No question asked. Good job, Nikon!
Just got 2 new D200's battery. hehehe. Dun have to fill any form, just give the batteries and get 2 new EN-EL3e, grey in color, made in Japan with box.
Thanks Nikon for giving me a free upgrade batt after one year using it.
*At least got a feel of D200.![]()
just got my replacement,
an EN-EL3e, they grey one..
got with the box and manual
Went to Nikon this morning to change my battery. I got the made in japan EN-EL3e, grey colour, comes in box with manual. Cool.![]()
Ok for those who hasn't got their batteries replaced and still wondering why they are giving out EN-EL3e when it has 3 contacts and not the usual 2.
This is what is written on the instruction sheet (some call it manual) that came with the EN-EL3e battery:
"EN-EL3e rechargeable LI-ion batteries are equipped to supply compatible devices with a variety of information, including battery life and the number of shots taken since the battery was last charged.
Please note that although EN-EL3e baterries can be used in devices that support EN-EL3 or EN-EL3a batteries, these devices will show only the battery level and not the other information described above."
And i think, though this is purely my own deduction, the middle contact on the EN-EL3e is meant to supply the "variety of infomation". So in this case, presumably, the D200 will display this info.
Yes! Got an EL3e at 4pm. A taste of D200?
