I like #1. What conversion method/steps did you use? The straight forward B&W conversion in photoshop? Because the graduation of tones is very abrupt.

Abrupt? Is it good or bad?

Actually, since I still don't have Capture NX, I just processed the RAW file on the camera and did a little touch up on photoshop.

Actually, since I still don't have Capture NX, I just processed the RAW file on the camera and did a little touch up on photoshop.

The graduation of tones should be 'smooth'. Shadows should not be blocked. If you like B&W then get Silver EfexPro - the best software for B&W at the moment, from the same people that developed Capture NX2 with Nikon. I don't have it yet. Maybe you can ask G_Man.
