Tutorial: How to create speech bubbles?

Just now, qqmeng asked me how do I create speech bubbles ala comic style for my photos.

For example..



and...



Well... very easy only. Here is my easy to learn Tutorial to create speech bubble using Photoshop. (I'm using Photoshop CS only)

Step1:
Open up the photo that you wish to add the speech bubble to. Do all the necessary adjustments first.


Step2:
Select the 'Elliptical Marquee Tool' from the toolbar as shown here


Step3:
Draw on the photo where you want the bubble to be


Step4:
Select the 'Polygonal Lasso Tool', then press the Shift key and hold and draw a triangle to point to the person/animal/things that is speaking.


Make sure you draw a complete triangle and make sure you keep holding the Shift key. If you do it right, you will get something like this



Step5:
Click 'Edit' then select 'Fill'


Choose White color and make sure opacity is 100%


You will get something like this:

Step6:
Click 'Edit' again and selcted 'stroke'


Choose the size of the speech bubble's border and choose black color.

Step7:
Now you're ready to type the words. Select the Text tool from the toolbar


Then type whatever you want to type


Step8:
After you're done, flatten the image and save your photo

I'm sure a lot of people will try this after reading loctor's tutorial.

For those who are using Photoshop Elements, it has a 'Custom Shape Tool' that can create 'talk bubbles' easily, just click and drag!

Well done Loctor!

You made me realise that pictures need not be just still images like traditional film prints, but ones that can be more interesting, "speak-out", and add humour to the pages of an album!

below just a rough way to do it:-



open any pix u like to edit




you can get preset bubble here




if not, try click on the arrow to open more selection from libruary




before that, remember to open a new layer so you wont spoil your original image. just incase you want to redo the thingy.




now can add in ther text but make sure is above the bubble layer.





is done~! may be add some layer style to create some emboss effect.

actually using the shape tool will reveal a lot of default talk bubbles.shape tool is the one below text tool- the default shape tool is rectangle tool, but when you press long enough at that tool you will see many tool, the last one is custom shape tool, iconised like a cloud.press that.on the top bar you'll see the shape press the arrow down to see more shape..and press the right arrow to see collection of shapes..there is default "TalkBubbles"
