Pentax Km Brief Review

Just have a very brief review and comments for Pentax Km here, I know all of u wait so long!!

My comments to Km:
-Small n lighter than K20D(because u can't say it's really light), still comfortable for holding long time
-Really "feel" Solid build for body compare to other entry level ie 1000D/450D/D60
-Auto Focusing improved...A LOT!(also in dim light) No one can say Pentax AF suck from now on.Compare to K20D, Km AF is just like heaven...I'm looking forward to K30D!!
-The red dot missing...only can hear beep sound to know focus locked or not
-AWB Improved (Personally feel even slightly better than K20D)
-Metering is...still in testing (explain in my opinion)
-Noise control I'll post photo for compare in next thread, but sure K20D is better.

My opinion:
I never use a entry level DSLR can do so many settings, even EV/ISO can do 1/3 manually ie 640,1000. Have Extend DR, Catch in focus, control wireless flash, New function shadow compensation....etc.

Image is different with K20D, is more like K10D style because of using the same CCD sensor, having a clear n fresh colors.

For a day used, feeling Metering is different from K20D n past models, normally Pentax is under a bit for reverse details, Km is over slightly for getting bright image when metering at dark color object. But still in testing, will post testing photo together with ISO test.

Brief Conclusion:
Ideal body for Pancakes, I brought my Km with 21+40+70 to Ipoh yesterday. No heavy equipment, snap n walk gently, make my mood so graceful, new AF do help me for capture some photo on moving objects...Long time no feeling so relax when snapped around....

My suggestion is for DS/DL/K100D users...I believe Km wont let u down.

Just share some photo here, direct JPEG from Km, no PS
Resized by photobucket.com,may affect the sharpness
If want original file please let me know

Ah, it reminds me of my DL...sadly I had to let it go so fast last time...

Hows the AF in 'low light?'...

Wow! Vibrant color, very sharp JPEG and pretty impressive WB (the restaurant shot)

I am equally impressed with the lens you used in these shots.

Can't wait to see the rest of your review.

Before I think Km is a backward movement, now I can say Km is a forward movement for Pentax

On Pic #10, I can see some noise in the shadow area. Should be better if the NR level increased a bit.

Re: Pentax Km Brief Review

walau-eehh!! what a tasty review!!! drooling... yet so poisonous.... my interest towards K30D is even more poisonous...

K-m + pancake = sexy little thing! (show us how it looks like )

What is the ISO of cafe shot?

At KLPF I hands-on a pre-production K-m for very short while, and I totally agree with yobboy regarding the built quality of K-m . but I kind of annoyed by the light-up LCD panel while viewing thru the viewfinder, the LCD light only goes off when I half press the shutter. Do u feel the same with the actual K-m?
