Ted Adnan's Portraiture Lighting Technique Workshop The Pictures..
A big Thank You to all who attended the workshop and sacrificing a Sunday morning sleep in to travel all the way to Colmar Tropicale, Bukit tinggi for yet an another edition of Ted Adnan's Portraiture Lighting Technique Workshop.

A Get Together session will be held in 2-3 weeks time at Starbuck KL Sentral for the Print assesment session. I shall select the work of 5 participants on the print assesment day and the chosen 5 participants whose work I deemed among the top 5 will be invited for a private studio session.

The session theme will be announced when the selected 5 arrives at the studio/location. Now you guys know what lah you've been missing

My cam were among the last to take this shot lah, hence, lain lain camera sudah letak atas tanah...

85mm at 1/1600 f/1.4 with Bubba holding a reflector from a low angle on Mala's right. What I think is wrong about this picture are the shadows under her eyes. We should have had one more reflector, or I should have use some fill in, off-camera flash. Sifu Ted says when photograping a lady, the modelling lighting should be soft without any harsh shadows. When photographing a male, it is the opposite. Strong shadows on a man's face gives him the macho "garang" look. (if you want more tips, join lah Ted's next session)...

I have one picture at f/1.2 but only her face was in focus with all the rest fuzzy. f/1.2 is quite difficult to handle, but the bokeh is very nice. I feel the 85mm f/1.8 is a more practical value-for-money lens.
