Greetings eAgleyes
A pretty model you have it there.
Let me try to provide you with some constructive critiques that I hope would allow you to grow by leaps…….
I see this shot could be even better captured if you have not been caught up by the invisible breath of the shoot and the beauty projected by the model. Composition wise I find there is too much negative space (bright background scene) at the back of her. This has caused a distraction to the indented subject matter. However if the background scene is reversed in tones….. then your composition of the subject matter is fine as then your subject matter will naturally takes its forms shapes around the subject matter with a good definition.
For me I would crop the image for a tighter frame to remove the negative space and thus allow the subject matter to fill up the frame in greater proportion for more emphasis. I believe this will lead you to a stronger picture composition that will give the viewer’s an eye a place to rest. I have tried it out and I find it gives me a more appearance value through subtle means……..
Okay in this image you have the cooperation of the subject and I would expect you to have directed her for a more challenge and extraordinary pose and expression. In order for your image to stand out from the rest, you need to have a more challenging setting that will allow you to pick up the vital moment for both the proposed pose and expression. For pose wise if you have directed her to make a more generous turn toward you with a good eye contact and express with a smile……. This would be a great pic…… That eye contact couple with a good facial expression would have characterized an acceptance and hopefully some aspect of the individual’s personality is captured…….. okay this is an artistic tall order that portray a face as not just a likeness but a revelation…….
I find the subject is underexposed and the image is a bit soft. Especially the bunga raya….which has in many ways diluted this image appearance value. From my experience I would not rely too heavy on the 3 shutter corrections capability of the lens image stabilizer. I would have my camera setting at ISO200, f3.2 with a shutter speed of around 1/350 to expose the subject. Hmm….. bright background and subject in shade…. I think if you have employed fill in flash in this shot you would have captured the background in greater light and lighten your subject…….
