He was one of the lesser males in the group and I noticed the pack leader, a really huge baboon, was monopolizing all the ladies for himself. Each time any lesser male tried to mate with one of the females, the alpha male would bare his teeth and chase them away. So if one is badly deprived and the call of nature is strong in the groin, what is one to do? Play with oneself, of course.....
