To think of it what is the story behind this statue?
Furthermore, what's the authority's rationale for placing it in Merdeka Square?

thanks.

i guess the current location is quite strategic for photographer or tourist with camera, because there exist an old building of Sultan Abdul Samad on the other side of the road. Whereby, IMO, if both of these structures were composed in one shot, they could get into the ambiance of historical stories a photo can tell.

Nice, i like the composition of this photo. With the background just out of focus, looks like the dome of a building of some sort.
