Good beginner model. Easy to use. Balanced body build & weight giving solid feel. Grip well positioned, even for man's palm. Battery fully can last up to over 100 shots. (consider with built-in flash):-) However, ISO1600 will produce little noise.:-\ Still my favorite after 2 years using it.:O)

I just can't stop complaining about the weight of this camera. But performance wise, it is awesome. i love it. Honestly i don't own it yet, its still stuck in my wishlist for next DSLR. My first experience with the 1D MkIII was when my photography class instructor lend his monstrous 1D MkIII to me, because i only had a small 4MP Powershot compact camera for the class. Whereas the other classmates had Nikons in their hands. It was my first encounter with a DSLR camera and it is huge and heavy (only to carry around within a few steps and my wrist started to tire). But i love it!!

No one will believe this lens can be a macro lens, and I had tried it before. Very sharp for macro shooting, and see all the details.

Used this for last 2 years and it strike out as a talented piece of glassware. Possibly the only Nikon which have an adjustable image defocus control, it open up new areas of creativity. The control was fun to use and you can have hours of experimentation. It also a competent portrait lense when open wide @ f2. It still come with aperture ring and old schoolers will be glad to fiddle with this. This is an awesome lense with great built quality (metal body with nice coated outsides) and ruggedly made in Japan. Possible drawback is slightly slower focusing action (compared to newer nikon, kinda expected actually) If you wanna something off the wall, this is it. It will keep you interested for many years to come. I know I am. Wink For technical details, can refer to many technical site. My feedback as a user is that, I am glad I have the courage to buy this lense. Looks like another keeper for me.
