Nikon Upcoming D850 Confirmed Specs, Leaked Info, Possible Announcement on 16th August 2017 - 728x90 Nikon

Nikon  upcoming D850 information has been leaked online…either accidentally or intentionally…but it has definitely created a lot of discussion and anticipation online. Well done, Nikon!

There is a new surfaced info on the possible official announcement of the camera on 16th August 2017, and below are the leaked specs that we know so far:

  • 45.75MP FX full frame CMOS sensor
  • 180,000 RGB sensor that’s same as the D5, with better face detection and enhanced scene recognition
  • Native ISO range of 64-25600 (expandable to 32-108400)
  • 153-point AF system with 30% more frame coverage than the D5 (the problem with Nikon and Canon DSLR is the limited focusing points, most are still at the centre area of the screen. Let’s hope that this one is more spread out.)
  • Center AF point -4EV, and all others -3EV
  • 8K timelapse shooting (8k? That’s nice!)
  • 4K UHD video recording in FX with no crop (Sorry Canon, your 5D IV is cropped…)
  • 51-photo buffer when shooting in 14-bit RAW
  • 3.2″, 2.36-million-dot tilting LCD touchscreen with improved gesture control
  • 7fps continuous shooting standard, 6fps with autofocus, 9fps when using a battery grip
  • 30fps at 8MP using the electronic shutter (Sony A9 is ONLY 20fps…)
  • RAW can be small, medium, and large resolutions
  • 0.75x magnification viewfinder, the first for a full-frame DSLR
  • Focus stacking. Camera can shoot up to 300 photos with 10 levels of bracketed focus from nearest to infinity for software to stack afterward. (Good for macro, product shots, or even landscape photography)
  • Natural Light AWB achieves better white balancing in natural light
  • Completely silent electronic shutter while shooting in live view. (Finally…let’s hope that the focusing speed is good in live view mode)
  • There’s no low-pass filter
  • Dual SD + XQD card slots

From the above specs, there are some eye catching innovations from Nikon that I have highlighted in red. It looks like Nikon is giving out the possible great features that they have in this new professional camera, to regain the market that they lost to Canon or Sony in professional videography market.

Here are the Chinese slides that were leaked few days ago (yes, the leak is from a Chinese powerpoint slides):
